“ABIDE IN ME, AND I IN YOU. AS THE BRANCH CANNOT BEAR FRUIT
OF ITSELF UNLESS IT ABIDES IN THE VINE, SO NEITHER CAN YOU
UNLESS YOU ABIDE IN ME. I AM THE VINE YOU ARE THE BRANCHES;
HE WHO ABIDES IN ME AND I IN HIM, HE BEARS MUCH FRUIT, FOR
APART FROM ME YOU CAN DO NOTHING.”
Without Him, there is, no, point.
No point in you praying for hours; no point in giving all your
money away, no point in sacrificing your life. It’s the
difference between working for your salvation, and receiving
it freely as God gave His life.
As people we can strive to be good and live our lives with a
long list of great deeds following us, but that list is not a key
that can open the gates of heaven. God said, whoever
declares that Jesus is Lord and believes in their heart that
God raised Him from the dead, will be saved. And so, it is
impossible to love without God, it’s impossible to be good
without God and live a life that is truly fulfilling. So abide in
God, flourish and grow, from the vine.
He is what sustains us; He is our source of life.
So if you want to truly thrive in Christ, abide in Him, be a part
of Him. That way by bearing much fruit, God can be glorified
and His kingdom advance.
