“BE CAREFUL THAT NO ONE ENTICES YOU BY
RICHES; DO NOT LET A LARDGE BRIBE TURN YOU
ASIDE.” JOB 36:18

This verse reminded me of myself, of people I know, and
people I don’t know. We can clearly see that it is saying to
not be attached to the things the world can offer. Filling
yourself with all these riches, yet that void and hole in
your life is still so empty. In the moment everything will
seem good, but then comes the night and you are back to
where you started, back to emptiness. Job is the perfect
example to us; everything was taken away from him. His
sons and daughters and all that he owned was destroyed.
Now what does Job do when his wife tells him to curse God
and die, and his friends accuse him of sin? Job, wiser than
them all, knows that God is the one who gave him all His
riches and possessions, and He has full permission to take
it away. I look at my life and I think of all the times that I
ran from God and took comfort in the world and material
things, but it gave me nothing, no solace or comfort. It
brought isolation, defeat, worthlessness, shamefulness,
and so much more. That’s what the world does to you. I
encourage you and myself to stop running from the throne
of grace. Stop thinking that you are worthless in the eyes
of God, when He paid the price for you life. Don’t let the
world be your comfort place, don’t get attached to material
possessions and the temporary things of this world. God
does not call you worthless, for you are priceless.
The emptiness inside of you is the absence of knowing
the goodness of Jesus Christ.
