“WHEN THEY KEPT ON QUESTIONING HIM, HE STRAIGHTENED
UP AND SAID TO THEM, “LET ANY ONE OF YOU WHO IS
WITHOUT SIN BE THE FIRST TO THROW A STONE AT HER.”
JOHN 8:7

Who among us can say that we have never sinned, has never
had fault, has never done wrong? We are quick to judge
people’s sin, quick to look down upon and condemn them,
but when it comes to ourselves, we brush aside our wrong
doings. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of
God, but I think we tend to forget. Driving on the road, I get
angry with the people around me, but I have no right. I
forget, that I am far beyond a perfect driver. People cut me
off or wouldn’t let me pass; yet I do the same exact things. I
was quick to blame them and get angry, quick to judge. While
I was driving one night I didn’t see that I cut someone off,
they started honking and yelling profanities, I was so
offended and hurt, but there God reminded me, that I myself
do the same things.

I expected them to have patience, to forgive and see my
point of view. I wanted them to think to themselves, “perhaps
they didn’t see me.” They had every right to be angry with
me, yet I expected forgiveness, though I myself did not
forgive when people did the same things. We get angry; I get
frustrated and lack patience. So who am I to judge those
around me if I follow the same conduct? Let us examine
ourselves, do we always do right? Are we without fault? As
wee look closely at our lives, we know that we have all
sinned, by knowing this; shall we not have the same mercy
toward people that we want when we do wrong? Let us be
quick to forgive, quick to love and show mercy, just as Christ
has forgiven us and loved us though we were deserving of
punishment and judgment. Doing so, let us also move past
our childish ways, and strive toward being Christ-like,
forgiving, loving and growing through our mistakes.
