“WHEN YOU PASS THROUGH THE WATERS, I WILL BE WITH YOU; AND THROUGH THE RIVERS, THEY WILL NOT OVERFLOW YOU. WHEN YOU WALK THROUGH THE FIRE, YOU WILL NOT BE SCORCHED NOR WILL THE FLAME BURN YOU.”
The road paved ahead is shaped by every decision we make. Before us lies the unknown, the void, the future. We don’t know what it holds and where life will take us. With each breath we take we don’t know whether another will follow, and we can’t be sure tomorrow will come to pass.
Though we cannot be sure of anything before us, and we don’t know the days that are numbered for us, though we can’t see the future ahead, one thing is for sure, that if Christ holds your life in His hands there is nothing we have to be worried about.
For His hands are steady, His heads can be trusted. I don’t have to know what tomorrow will bring, because I have the peace of Christ guiding me. All my steps are measured to His plan, every breath is given by His command and so I will trust in His perfect plan.
If you are wondering, if you have no peace and the future is something that scares you, rethink who holds your fate. For we cannot even trust ourselves, we falter. I cannot put my life in anyone else’s hands because people falter; all make mistakes and fall.
If you want assurance, you will only find it in Christ.
There is nothing in life we can be certain of.
But, in God we can live a life where the unknown is not scary, the future is full of possibilities. And even if we fall and something goes wrong, it is not the end. For if God is the captain of your ship you will not be steered out of course. You have no reason to worry if you trust Him, He will take care of the details and He will take care of the unknown. So we put our faith in Him, we position our feet forward and our eyes to Jesus. Then deep waters and burning fires are no threat.
