“YET I HOLD THIS AGAINST YOU: YOU HAVE FORSAKEN THE LOVE YOU HAD FIRST.”

A relationship is the answer to all my problems; a relationship will fill me up with the love I need; a relationship will teach me to be a better person; a relationship will make me feel complete.

The answer to all those questions is, yes! But, not with who you’re thinking of.

We are a generation with a mindset that if we aren’t dating or with someone, we are not complete. We’ve been poisoned and led to believe that we are missing out on something so special, “a relationship is quintessential to my life”. Because of that, we bring ourselves into a mourning of loneliness, convincing ourselves we are absolutely, terribly miserable.

That may be true, and those feelings aren’t wrong, but it is not found in a person.

We as people are born with sin, we are imperfect, we make mistakes and not one person is righteous. So how can we trust that we will find completion in mere human beings? God put this desire inside of us so that may we seek Him, and kinder a relationship with Christ. For Christ is truly the answer to all our problems,

He is the perfect, life-long companion we all are searching for.

But don’t be confused into thinking that marriage and relationships are wrong, we need those things in our lives as well. If we focus on looking for another person to complete us, we will always be found thirsty, needing more, and ending up more broken than we started. But, as we grow in Christ, He will guide us into a relationship when we are ready.

If we rush into marriage, two things can happen: we will either be pulling each other down or building each other up. Marriage is a beautiful thing that God intended and encourages. Through it, you can make a bond and such a life-long friendship where two souls are growing in God and ministering together for His glory. While we are lost, are we really going to ask another lost person to help us?

If you are looking for true love, let me tell you that you will 100% find everlasting, unfailing, never-ending, perfect love in: God.
