Did you know that you could rent a friend? There’s a website that connects you with someone who wants to make money by being your friend. Say you want to go snowboarding and have no one to go with. Not a problem – find someone who snowboards and then rent them as a friend for a day. Want someone to go to the gym with? Pay up and you will have a friend there for as long as you can afford it.
The Bible calls us to show our selves to be true ministers of God in everything that we do. Often times we are good representations of God when things are going our way. When we expect to “get paid” or find benefit it’s easier to show our selves as ministers of God. It’s when things get hard, that those who are truly serving God can continue behaving like true ministers of God. Do you show your self as a true minister of God all the time in all situations, or are there times when you aren’t the light of the world because it’s inconvenient?
Give your life to God. That’s where He owns all of you all of the time. God isn’t looking for people that he can “rent out” to minister when they find it convenient or easy.
“…but in everything commending ourselves as servants of God, in much endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in distresses, in beatings, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in hunger…” (2 Corinthians 6: 4 – 5)
