“HE WAS DESPISED AND REJECTED – A MAN OF SORROWS,
ACQUAINTED WITH DEEPEST GRIEF. WE TURNED OUR BACKS ON
HIM AND LOOKED THE OTHER WAY. HE WAS DESPISED, AND WE
DID NOT CARE.” ISAIAH 53:3
This is the description of our Savior, the Son of God. He
who was supposed to be highly favored, yet by the world
he was lowly esteemed and rejected. Christ was this way
so that we wouldn’t be. He took our place and took upon
your sin, my sin, and the sin of the whole world. It was we
who were meant to be beaten and despised, it was we
who were supposed to be rejected and slaughtered for
our sin, and it was we who were supposed to hang on
that cross. Yet the Son of God, the perfect lamb, the holy
and righteous Christ took our place. He went through all
of those beatings enduring through all of the pain and
endured even to the point of death, so that we wouldn’t
have to. On the cross He hung; an innocent man, and we
who were truly guilty of every crime stood free. Let us
never forget what God did for us and how great His love
is for us. He made a way for the sinner and He bought us
salvation so that we could truly live and be free. He made
a new covenant, a covenant of blood that does not
expire or wear out, and that blood washes over us and
forgives all our sin. Let no man tell you otherwise or
person try and convince you of differently, God loves you
and He gave His son for you.
