“THOUGH I WALK THROUGH THE VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH I SHALL FEAR NO EVIL FOR YOU ARE WITH ME.”
There is a phrase, “There is hope at the end of the tunnel”. It means that there is something to look forward to, that there is light and safety at the end. It can also imply, that if you just keep going and looking forward, you can see Jesus at the end.
But Jesus is not at the end, He is not cheering for you in the end or waiting for you to make it through, He is already there with you! He is standing right beside you, with every trial with every struggle and hardship that you go through, He stands with you in that tunnel.
Remember also, that He has already made a way out from every tunnel. When His son’s blood pours out onto your sins, they are no more. In the tunnel the enemy will try and confuse you of where you are, and who you are in Christ. In the darkness He tries to make you stumble and fall, but in those moments of confusion, when He spits lies at you, remember that God is truth. When you feel His death breathing on your shoulder, remember that God is the life. And when you don’t know where to go, simple look at the one who is beside you, Jesus who is the Way.
So let the devil not taunt you with your past, or tell you that you are alone and forgotten, for God is with you and will never leave you. His is there, right beside you.
