P R O V E R B S 24 : 1 6

FOR THOUGH THE RIGHTEOUS FALLS SEVEN TIMES, THEY RISE AGAIN, BUT THE WICKED STUMBLE WHEN CALAMITY STRIKES.

My whole life I hid.

If I was scared, I ran. I was never brave, I could never run to action, or fight the front lines. If I fell, I chose not to get back up. I chose to stay on the ground because if I got back up again, it would surely mean I could fall again; and I did not like those odds.

Here the Bible encourages us to get back up. For we will fall many times, even more than seven, but the difference between a righteous man and a wicked one is their choice to keep going or to run backward.

Make the choice to get up. It’s embarrassing and humbling after you’ve fallen so many times, but we must remember what lies ahead. Let us take our example from Christ, who though was beaten and mocked chose to continue for our sake.

A crown of bloody thorns and a heavy cross did not stop Him; scourging’s and wounds did not stop Him, the world yelling and protesting against Him did not stop him.

Remember that He traveled the same path that we do now. He knows the same troubles and He’s been through the same struggles.

So shall we not rise, and continue? No matter what trials you are being faced with today, or struggles that trouble you, take the hand of Christ, and get back up again, and again.
