P S A L M 3 4 : 1 0
“THE YOUNG LIONS MAY GROW WEAK AND HUNGRY, BUT THOSE WHO SEEK THE LORD LACK NO GOOD THING.”

Are you taking supplements?
You buy, take, or go to whatever you can to add to your lack of
happiness, fill your loneliness, spark your reason to live.
When you take them, you feel a little happier, you see a change of spirit,
and you chase that feeling because your joy isn’t continual and your
solitude is sometimes overbearing. You’re trying to supplement for your
loneliness by feeding off relationships, you’re trying to seek comfort in
people, and you look for joy in objects;
You will never find what you’re looking for in any of these things.
They can only be found in God. He is the one who supplies true joy in our
lives and fills us with purpose and meaning. When we finally find that in
Him, you will no longer have to run to dead objects, you will no longer
need a relationship to feel whole, you won’t need a drink to drown out
your feelings, you won’t need drugs to erase your misery.
If you feel lost and unsatisfied, for your own soul’s sake, turn to God in
that loneliness and you will find for purpose and completion. Seeking
thrills and joys in objects you’ll end up in a ditch trying to find something
deeper than price tags and anguish. You’ll continue to supplement
because it will never be enough.
You don’t need a supplement when you seek Him; He is enough. You
won’t need an extra source when you’re abiding with Him. He is not an
additive; Christ is the complete source.
