“SEARCH ME, GOD, AND KNOW MY HEART; TEST ME AND KNOW
MY ANXIOUS THOUGHTS. SEE IF THERE IS ANY OFFENSIVE WAY
IN ME, AND LEAD ME IN THE WAY EVERLASTING.”
PSALM 139: 23-24
When there’s a turn coming up, how do you know which way is
the right way? When you have a hard decision in life, do you
choose what is easy, what you want, or what Gods will is? More
importantly, how do you know what God’s will is?
In life, there are many decisions, many paths to take, and you
get to choose which ones you will walk on. There are things like
what school you’ll go to, what job you want to pursue, etc. In all
those choices, we can either choose what we want, or we can
see what God wants. That can be difficult, because it may not
always be the easiest or what seems good at the moment, or
what we even want. When we pursue God, when we have a
relationship with Jesus, that decision is much easier to make
because we are already seeking the will of God. When you are
constantly having fellowship with Him, your thoughts become His
thoughts, and your will is aligned with His. By reading the word
of God, it helps discern the righteous path, from the evil way. If
you desire to really know what God’s will is, you must seek after
God. Not when it’s convenient or just when things get hard, but
it’s a continuous relationship with Him. We all have big decisions
in our life; we can choose to do what we want, and live a life full
of our own desires. But I encourage us to run after God’s own
heart, as David did. He wanted to know what Gods desires were,
and he wanted to make them his desires. He searched after
God, and let us do the same. Seeking after God, and fulfilling His
perfect will for each and every one of us.
