“MAKE YOUR BAGGAGE READY FOR EXILE, O DAUGHTER DWELLING IN EGYPT, FOR MEMPHIS WILL BECOME A DESOLATION, IT WILL EVEN BE BURNED DOWN AND BEREFT OF INHABITANTS.”
The New Year inspires a man toward change. It calls him to reflect on his past days, his deeds and actions throughout another year of living. But this year of twenty-twenty, let us not simply make resolutions to change our physical ways for the good of our body, or our sleep schedule, or school habits. It’s not about making a promise to break bad habits that get left behind on the second week with no recollection until the next year starts again.
Though God gives us new chances every single day, there is a special urgency when the clock strikes 12:01. God is calling us today; shall we postpone His cry for another year?
There is sin everywhere, and it is hastily increasing. In the eyes of man, these are normal occurrences not to be alarmed by, it is quickly becoming apart of our living. There is no remorse or conviction in these people; shall we choose to blend? Let us examine our lives, let us go over our bad habits because the world blindly follows sin, but we are meant to shine and reflect God’s light.
Turn to do good, cease to do evil, for who knows what days lie ahead, where it will be difficult to discern left and right, and light and dark because people try and marry them in the middle to hide their dark spots. Let us take up our bibles and dust of our armor for God is calling you today, to turn from the world and walk forward towards Him. Let this year be a year of the godly, a rise of the reverent, of a zealous youth, of a new creation in Christ.
