When the Going Gets Tough, Where Do You Go?
Difficulty can strike us at any moment in our lives. Whether it be the stress of school, hardship at work, or conflict in a personal relationship—we will look for and run to a place of comfort. It can be as simple as opening the fridge and having some “comfort food” while sitting down and watching something to tune out our difficulty. To escape harsh reality, we often run to worldly things instead of turning to God. King Hezekiah, when confronted with a death threat, humbled himself and went to the temple of God. Where do you go when you have a problem? Facebook, your friends, alcohol, drugs, a relationship, sports, work? God is the only one who has the ultimate answer and solution for our problems and difficulties. Seek Him.
“When King Hezekiah heard this, he tore his clothes and put on sackcloth and went into the temple of the LORD.”
(Isaiah 37:1)
