Where Does God Live?
By: Liya Abramova
‘Where is God?’ we sometimes wonder, and God has an answer, “I dwell on a high and holy place, and also with the contrite and lowly of spirit in order to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.” God, who declares that He lives on high, in a holy place, chooses to also stay with those who are humble, and lowly of spirit. The Scriptures tell us of many times when God was merciful with those who humbled themselves. Manasseh, for example, was even restored to his position as king out of slavery after he humbled himself before God. Humbling oneself is a mandatory requirement to coming before God. King David’s psalms demonstrate a deep humility before God, and God calls him a man after His own heart. Do you want to find God today? Start by humbling your heart, He will surely not pass you by.
For thus says the high and exalted One Who lives forever, whose name is Holy, “I dwell on a high and holy place, And also with the contrite and lowly of spirit in order to revive the spirit of the lowly And to revive the heart of the contrite. (Isaiah 57:15)
