1 JOHN 4 : 1 6
“AND SO WE KNOW AND RELY ON THE LOVE GOD HAS FOR US. GOD
IS LOVE. WHOEVER LIVES IN LOVE LIVES IN GOD, AND GOD IN
THEM.”

I was hanging out with my little cousins one evening and it came
time to go. Despite the tantrums of the day, the screaming and
crying, in the end they wouldn’t let me through the door. They hid
my keys and my phone and didn’t give me a passage to go home,
though I reminded them I would see them again soon. As I was
looking into their eyes I saw a powerful love. It’s found in every
human being; from the moment of their birth to the day they lay their
bodies into the ground. That great desire to be wanted, needed, and
loved. A child is not afraid to display that need. As we grow up, the
world hurts us, we grow weary of the games that people play, and
we loose all faith and hope in any kind of real love.
But there is a real love in this life, a love that’s true and just as
everlasting. And it desires you just as much as you do, and that’s
the love that God has toward us. That phrase that Jesus loves us is
seldom very repeated and washed out, but it’s so true and it’s that
of a child; a love that wants to wrap you tight and hold you near and
dear. It doesn’t want harm to befall you or you to ever leave. You
can find it in the arms of the Father. Reawaken that desire for Christ,
run back to him just as a child would and He will hold you so tightly
that you can never possibly be abandoned or let go. For He desires
to know you, He desires your time and your heart. After all He gave
it all just so you could have it all.
