“LET NO ONE LOOK DOWN ON YOUR YOUTHFULNESS, BUT RATHER IN SPEECH, CONDUCT, LOVE, FAITH AND PURITY SHOW YOURSELF AN EXAMPLE OF THOSE WHO BELIEVE.”
You have a certain amount of people whose attention you can grab. But, no matter how great your follower count that is not your greatest influence. Sure you have some sway into their lives, but they only see your perfectly planned feed, your clever captions, and your immaculately edited photos. That is all on the outside.
But you have a greater influence. You have the power to change and direct someone’s life ever so deeply, you may not even realize the impact you imprint; your siblings.
You may not even notice how they start to dress the same way you do, they adopt the same phrases and mannerisms. They watch closely at how you treat others, how you speak with your family, and how you conduct yourself in the outside world, what you present in public, they will follow. That includes good and bad, if they see you sharing they will be compelled to do the same, you’re soft demeanor they will mirror, and the way you give to others selflessly they will want to copy. Because whether you see it or not, you are their influencer. You are the one they see every day, the one that walked before them, the one with just a little more experience in life, and they want to follow in those footsteps.
So shall we not conduct ourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel? Shall we not work on ourselves so that your siblings will want to follow that example and our ultimate example of Christ?
So tread lightly, use your words wisely and behave in such a way to make our Heavenly Father proud.
