“GIVE FREELY AND BECOME MORE WEALTHY; BE
STINGY AND LOSE EVERYTHING. THE GENEROUS WILL
PROSPER; THOSE WHO REFRESH OTHERS WILL
THEMSELVES BE REFRESHED.” PROVERBS 11:24-25

When you hear the word invest, the first thing that probably
pops in your head is money, right? But I would like us to look at
it from a different perspective. I stir us all to be of a generous
heart, not just when giving money. When somebody asks for
your help, don’t reject them, choose instead to plant a seed in
them and tend to that seed; invest your time into them. It can be
easier to put a bill in the basket and forget about it, but it is
much harder to give up your time, even more for someone else
that you might not know or care about. That is why I encourage
us all, to invest in people, in your family, invest in your
community, and invest in your church. Time is the most precious
thing we have here on earth, and how we spend it is up to us.
The word of the Lord says that whoever sows, will reap what
they sow; what will we reap? We take time off to focus on
ourselves, who dedicate special times to study or to work;
nobody can touch that or take it away from us. A challenge for
all of us is to find something that needs your help or someone
you can invest in. It’s not easy, if you see a tree almost dying
it’s easier to let it die than to put work and time trying to restore
it. Find someone and put your time into them, care about
someone and be there for them, mentoring them, be a friend.
Jesus spent His time with the people, watering and tending to
them, encouraging and sharing wisdom, he made sure they
were never hungry or in need. Christ gave Himself up to serve,
and we should take example.
