“BUT I WILL RESTORE YOU TO HEALTH AND
HEAL YOUR WOUNDS’, DECLARES THE LORD.”

JEREMIAH 30:17

Have you ever had to tear off a band-aid? You know it hurts, but
it has to be done. If you keep it on there, it’s going to be making
your wound worse instead of healing it. The band-aid is just like
a temporary help or pause so the wound stops bleeding and
nothing touches it. What could that be in our lives practically; for
example, rejection, toxic people that can be ruining our
relationship with Christ, even sin that hinder us from growing
spiritually. If you put a band-aid on sin, it’s like your ignoring
that you have a problem instead of dealing with it. But
eventually, that band-aid has to be removed. And that can hurt.
It hurts dealing with rejection from a job you really wanted, from
people, it hurt’s stepping away from people in our lives. But we
have to remember; it’s only going to hurt temporarily. If you give
that pain to Jesus, He can heal you. If you show Him your
wounds and unbind the cloth covering it, you give Him control to
restore you. And you know for sure, that you will be healed, you
will be restored, and you will be made new. He gives us that
promise, and you can trust in His word. Bring all your pain to
Jesus, your struggles, and your hurt. For, “Surely he took up our
pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by
God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our
transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the
punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his
wounds we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:4-5)
